Land Management/Water Conservation

Concern about the environment and the negative impact of human activity on the world we live in is widespread these days.  Students in The Fort La Bosse School Division in western Manitoba are learning not only about the problems we face, but also about ways they can contribute to a change for the better.

The Land Management/Water Conservation program came into being when the school board’s Sustainable Development Sub-Committee allocated funding for the development of an on-line course that would expose students to water and land management principles through both theoretical and practical components.  The end result was a course that not only expands the number and variety of options available to students, but which also introduces them to a possible future career.
