Heritage Language and Cultural Program

You don’t need to look beyond the boundaries of The Seven Oaks School Division in Winnipeg to be reminded that Canada truly is a cultural mosaic.

From October through March, for 1.5 hours three days a week, students can take advantage of no fewer than nine varieties of after-school heritage language classes—Punjabi, Polish, Portuguese, Italian, Filipino, Cree, Ojibwe, Spanish, and German.  Thanks to these classes, each year over 300 students gain language skills and cultural understandings that help them build pride in their heritage, and connections to their communities.

For more information about heritage language and cultural programming in The Seven Oaks School Division, contact Howard Ryant at 204.338.7937, or via e-mail at howard.ryant@7oaks.org.
